No matter how perilous, Omar Sharif Jr. declares he is gay
That Omar Sharif Jr. has no clue of what he’s about to get into, after this, would be quite untrue a statement for the grandson of the famous Egyptian actor exactly knows the consequences of his recent declaration.
Now, before getting into all that, one should download Flashpoint, and take a note of what all the young actor is up to these days.
Till now, he’s had quite a year for all that on-stage tussling that he could get into with Kirk Douglas at the 83rd Academy Awards.
So, no matter, he hails from a strict religious country, where a lot of basic civil and moral liberties have been suppressed since millions of years now, a touch of Hollywood to soul’s life is bound to give birth to an alternative individualistic thought process within.
And, I guess that is what has happened to Omar Sharif Jr., as he was left with no choice, but to confirm his sexual identity in front of the world media.
He has clearly stated that apart from being Egyptian, and half-Jewish, he is also gay. And, now he fears that his statement might invite trouble to his family and to himself.
Post-January’2011 revolution, the Egyptian society is on its way to an Arabic Islamic spring, which will mean that Omar Sharif Jr.’s identity will not be accepted, and there are chances that he will be scorned, chastised, threatened, and of him turning into an Egyptian public enemy.
He said that he has left the country in fear, as his declaration will shock his parents, as a result of which he would want to silently hide in the shadows for some time.
Pointing his situation at the moment, he hints at the forthcoming elections, which will decide his decision to return back to his country for if the Islamists win, it will be difficult for Omar Sharif Jr. to get back to his land again.
He admits to the media that the country has been robbed off its splendor, and all the freedom and human rights that the patriots had brought for the country at Tahrir Square, has been hijacked.
