Breaking the record of highest (17) nominations, set by - no, not The Tudors - but rather by the CBC mini-series Human Cargo in 2004 ‘Flashpoint’ has flashed its worth. Exceeding earlier record by two, the CTV cop series, Flashpoint has made new record of 19 nominations from Gemini Awards. Nominees of the 2009 Gemini Awards were announced on 25^th August, 2009 at a media conference in Toronto, Canada. The main ceremony for the 24^th annual Gemini Awards is going to take place on 14^th November in Calgary. Let me peel off another layer…it’s going to be broadcast on Global and Showcase.

‘Flashpoint’s competitors for best drama include the CBC and Showtime’s “The Tudors,” the CBC and Ion Television’s “The Border,” the CBC’s “Being Erica,” and “ZOS: Zone of Separation,” an eight-part war drama on pay TV channels the Movie Network and Movie Central.

Hugh Dillon and Enrico Colantoni’s nomination for individual best-actor-in-a-drama accolades and Amy Jo Johnson’s best-actress are among the 19 waggles for Flashpoint.

This year, Flashpoint’s second season ended, airing last episode on May 15^th, ‘Exit Wounds’ scoring 5.3/10 US Nielsen and Canadian BBM Nielsen Ratings. Its weekly broadcasting timings were quite affordable for me at 9:00 p.m., every Friday. I hardly missed any episode. It has been finalized that my loving show’s third season will start in mid 2010. In the first episode of next season, ‘Coming To You Live’, we will see SRU team racing to the radio station, where a prominent politician is made hostage by host of the talk show, seeking revenge for a murder he thinks the man committed years ago.

How often do we get the stars of Flashpoint to talk about themselves and the show? Not often, but no need to lose patience, as recently Hugh Dillon who has given life and soul to the character of sniper Ed Lane gave a really warm and revealing interview.

He discussed many exciting facets of Flashpoint that were never out in public arena before. He came up with many interesting revelations, like some of the songs that have been used in the show are his creations. He also revealed that he takes great interest in the music as he has been part of a band named Headstones. Hugh Dillon also revealed that the entire team of Headstones has been signed to Universal and the band members have also been touring continuously for ten years. Isn’t it great to know that a star in Flashpoint is such a great talent in music field as well? This might well be the reason that performance of Hugh Dillon is so silky and touching and has many different shades to it like a song which has it all, the rock, the jazz, the pop.

Don’t stop reading as I haven’t finished yet. This great star of Flashpoint has revealed much more. Don’t we love the entire Strategic Response Unit in Flashpoint that has always made professional criminals run for their money? Hugh Dillon has revealed that the team work that appears so realistic on screen is only because they are a close unit in real life as well and whenever they are around it’s a real riot.

As of now, Flashpoint is running with its second season. Several episodes have been aired during this season and the first one entitled ‘Business as Usual‘ was aired on February 27, 2009. Let me go through the whole season to remember what we watched during this season.

In the season opener, the team was called to investigate the case of a CEO who was taken hostage. Jules was injured and the team had to look for her replacement. The new team member chosen was named Donna. Following it was the episode ‘The Fortress’. Here, the situation, which the team was first introduced to, turned to be completely different. The ‘Clean Hands’ showed SRU dealing with a tough case. The central point of the case was a killer who was returning to Canada and the team was tasked to protect him. In ‘Aisle 13′, we see the team dealing with the case of a furious teen. And, in ‘The Perfect Family’, we saw a couple stealing the baby, they gave up for adoption. Next episode was ‘Remote Control’. In this episode, a remorseless gang took a pregnant lady hostage. The husband of the woman was being convinced by his brother to rob a bank so that the demands of the muggers could be fulfilled. Failing to do so would result in the death of the wife.

The very recent episode of ‘Flashpoint’ was entitled ‘Perfect Storm’. In this episode, we met a student who had the intentions to take revenge from the bullies who had pushed him beyond limit. The upcoming episodes of the second season of ‘Flashpoint’ are-

‘Last Dance’ which would be aired on May 8, 2009.

Following it would be ‘Exit Wounds’ which would hit the TV screens on May 15, 2009. Get ready to catch these episodes on the respective dates.

I know all ‘Flashpoint’ fans are very happy these days because their favorite ‘Flashpoint’ is coming back with second season. Second season will be premiered in the beginning of 2009 and most probably, season opener will be entitled as ‘Eagle Two’. Well, guys now , I’m gonna write the name of some more episodes which I’m not sure about. I got all these names from a website. Now, let’s talk about the ‘Planets Aligned’ aired on September 18, 08. Here, we see that SRU tries to save a gal who has been kidnapped and is being held at a booby-trapped home. While the team investigates the case, they come to know that one of the abductors is a teenager who went missing several years ago. It was an absolutely great episode .. Greatly performed and nicely written. What I best like about ‘Flashpoint’ is their way of representing the things. They hardly sugarcoat the stuff and that’s why their scenes look like real ones. Yeah, it’s a show which needs a mind to understand what’s going on… I must say that it’s the best Police Drama!

I am Watch “Flashpoint” episodes, right from its beginning. All episodes aired during the first season were really superb and series continued to make its mark by delivering more and more enjoyable episodes every week. I must say, that this CBS drama is one of the very successful shows of 2008. Really, it’s superb… every characters seems like our family member, whether it’s a police officer/ a victim or even villains too. Episodes represent the real life stories and it makes us to feel close to ‘Flashpoint’.

Well, nowadays, ‘Flashpoint’ is on hiatus and we’ll have to wait until the series returns with second season in 2009. Waiting for flashpoint…………. Yesterday, I downloaded my favorite episodes of first season, here’s the website, you guys can also download.
